People in the north prefer food made offlour, while people in the south give their preference to rice. In the coastal areas, seafood and freshwater aquatic products serves as a considerable proportion of people\u2019s diet, whereas meat and dairy products are more common in other areas. Residents in provinces such as Sichuan, Hunan and other provinces favor spicy food in general, while people in Jiangsu and Zhejiang prefers sweet food. Tasteschange as society changes. The young people have their own demands and aspirations in terms of clothing, food, residence and entertainment. They favor comfortable, casual wear, such as T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers, over formal suits and dresses. Similarly, their musical taste leans toward popular and modern music, such as rock and roll, heavy metal and rap. Their taste in food also experiences a shift. They tend to prefer Western-style food, such as pizza, steak and sushi, over traditional Chinese food.
